2013-2014 JX & QX60 CVT Warranty Extension

This CVT warranty extension is being provided as an owner satisfaction effort to address owner concerns, including those concerns expressed by plaintiffs in class action litigation, and is subject to final approval of the settlement of that litigation. Prior to final approval, Infiniti will make any necessary repairs that would be covered under the extended CVT warranty.
 
Infiniti will extend the warranty coverage for Continuously Variable Transmission assembly (including internal CVT components, gaskets, and seals), CVT control valve body, and torque converter from its original duration of 6 years/70,000 miles to 8 years/94,000 miles, whichever comes first on 2013-2014 JX and QX60. Coverage of other vehicle components remains unchanged, and all other terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of Infiniti’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty continue to apply.

One of the many technologically-advanced features of your vehicle is the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), an innovative transmission that offers smooth, seamless shifting, while tailoring the vehicle’s output to your driving style.

While Infiniti is proud to offer this advanced technology on this model, we have become aware that certain owners of some [2013, 2014] [JX35, QX60] vehicles equipped with CVTs have expressed concerns about the long-term durability and repair costs of their CVTs. We take these concerns seriously. We strive to enhance vehicle performance and durability, and have made substantial improvements to our CVTs over the years.

To demonstrate our confidence in this technology, Infiniti will extend the warranty coverage for your Continuously Variable Transmission assembly (including internal CVT components, gaskets, and seals), CVT control valve body, and torque converter from its original duration of 6 years/70,000 miles to 8 years/94,000 miles, whichever comes first. If you seek coverage for a repair under this extended warranty, you will need to bring your vehicle to an authorized Infiniti retailer. The factory-trained technical staff at the Infiniti retailer will have the diagnostic tools and knowledge to provide you with the appropriate service and submit your warranty claim.
